Have you tasted a little bit of bliss?

A very rich man was very much puzzled because his whole life he tried to be rich and rich and rich, and finally he succeeded. He became rich, he became the richest man in the world, but there was no bliss. And he was thinking that once you become rich, bliss is attained. He was very frustrated. That is the fate of all successful people. He started going around asking for any wise person who could help him to attain bliss.

Somebody suggested a Sufi master. He went to the Sufi master on his beautiful horse. He was carrying a big bag full of diamonds, maybe the most precious stones in the world, and he told the master, "I have all these diamonds, but not a drop of bliss. How can I gain bliss? Can you help me?"

The master jumped -- the rich man could not believe his eyes -- the master snatched away the bag and ran away. The rich man followed him crying, shouting, "I have been robbed! I have been cheated! This man is not a master, this man is a thief -- catch hold of him!"

But in that village the master was well acquainted with all the roads and all the lanes and all the streets, so he dodged the rich man. And the rich man had never run after anybody; it was difficult. A crowd started following. They knew the Sufi master, that his ways were very strange.

Finally they came back to the same tree where the master had been sitting and the rich man had found him. The master was again sitting under the tree with the bag. The rich man came there, the master gave the bag to him, and the rich man held the bag close to his heart and said, "I am so blissful. I am so happy that I have found my lost treasure!"

And the master said, "Have you tasted a little bit of bliss? Unless you lose it you cannot taste it. I have made you taste it. This is the way to taste bliss -- lose something."

If you can lose your ego you will gain yourself.

Die to the past and be born to the present and you are mature.

Maturity is living in the present, fully alert and aware of all the beauty and the splendor of existence.

How you take it..

Life is a Mixture of  both

Good and Bad,

it depends

on how we take it

and how we give it

back...

There's

"hell" in hello,

 "good" in goodbye,

"lie" in believe,

"over" in lover,

"end" in friend,

"ex" in "next",

 and;

"if" in life...

Life is Beautiful..

What you give, you get..

A little boy got angry with his mother and shouted at her, "I hate you, I hate you." Because of fear of reprimand, he ran out of the house.

He went up to the valley and shouted, "I hate you, I hate you," and back came the echo, "I hate you, I hate you."

This was the first time in his life he had heard an echo. He got scared, went to his mother for protection and said there was a bad boy in the valley who shouted "I hate you, I hate you."

The mother understood and she asked her son to go back and shout, "I love you, I love you."

The little boy went and shouted, "I love you, I love you," and back came the echo.

That taught the little boy a lesson that our life is like an echo: We get back what we give.

What you sow, you reap. What you give, you get. What you see in others, exists in you.

Benjamin Franklin said, "When you are good to others, you are best to yourself. ”

I say my prayers when...

On one trip, the boat was full of young people.

They laughed at the old captain when they saw him say a prayer before sailing out, because the day was fine and the sea was calm.

However they weren’t long at sea when a storm suddenly blew up and the boat began to pitch violently. The terrified passengers came to the captain and asked him to join them in prayer.

But he replied, “I say my prayers when it’s calm. When it’s rough I attend to my ship!”

Is there a lesson for us, here?

If we cannot seek God in quiet moments of our lives, we are not likely to find Him when trouble strikes.

We are more likely to panic. But if we have learnt to seek Him and trust Him in quiet moments, then most certainly we will find Him when the going gets rough.

Story of Validad

Once there lived a poor carpenter called Validad in his small hut. He was living alone and had no kith and kin. He worked hard all the day and was accepting only reasonable money for that. Since he was spending very little and saving the rest, his money box was full with coins after some time.

He wanted to spend his money fully and went to a gold merchant.

"Please give me some ornament equivalent to the value of the whole coins in my box" Validad said to the merchant.

The gold merchant gave him a beautiful golden bangle and Validad liked it also. But he thought that he didn't have any use of it. At that time a cloth merchant came there on his horse.

"Where are you going to" asked Validad

"I am going to the palace to sell some silk clothes to the princess" said the cloth merchant.

"Dear friend, please give this golden bangle to the princess and tell her that it is a gift from Validad"

The cloth merchant gave that gift to the princess and she liked it very much. In return she sent some very costly silk clothes to Validad.

"What I will do this costly silk clothes?" Validad asked the merchant when he got the gift from princess.

"You can gift this to somebody" said the merchant. "To whom ? Because this is very costly and only kings wear such clothes" said Validad

"I am going to the sultan of nearby province. I can give it to him" said the merchant

"Okay, please give it to him and tell that it is a gift from Validad"

Sultan was so happy to get the precious silk clothes. In return he sent six majestic horses to Validad through the merchant.

Validad gifted those horses to the princess again. She wondered who this Validad was.

Princess ordered " Let Validad know that we too know how to give gifts. Send twenty big boxes of silver to him on twenty donkeys."

When Validad got the valuable gift from princess she sent it to the sultan. Sultan wondered who this wealthy person would be and in return he sent twenty carts full of diamonds and gold to Validad.

Validad gifted all those diamonds and gold to the princess. This time princess really surprised and wanted to know who this Validad was. She set out to visit Validad. When she reached the hut of Validad the sultan also was there who came there to visit Validad. They knew about the poor hardworking Validad.

Both the sultan and princess liked each other and married. They asked Validad to stay with them in the Palace which Validad humbly refused. Then they sent a lot of money and gifts to Validad to him. Seeing the soldiers coming with big gift boxes Validad fled away from that country.

Today's Situation:

Is there any person like Validad in the Earth who doesn't have even a grain of interest in wealth and money?

The majority is running after wealth, money and power. They are not satisfied with the wealth and money they amassed and they struggle to amass more and reluctant to share it with others.

We need reasonable wealth and money to live in this earth comfortably. Apart from that if the very purpose of life itself is amassing wealth and money our life will be a disaster.

In many wealthy families even brothers and sisters fight each other just for money.

If at all we are not becoming like Validad, at least let us not be influenced by the power of money.

Money is not the destiny.

It is like 'pea nuts' to eat while we travel the great journey of our life

The desire to excel..

A gentleman was once visiting a temple under construction. In the temple premises, he saw a sculptor making an idol of God. Suddenly he saw, just a few meters away, another identical idol was lying.

Surprised he asked the sculptor, "Do you need two statutes of the same idol". "No" said the sculptor. "We need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage". The gentleman examined the sculptor. No apparent damage was visible.

"Where is the damage" asked the gentleman.

"There is a scratch on the nose of the idol " replied sculptor

Where are you going to keep the idol? " asked the gentleman

"The sculptor replied that it will be installed on a pillar 20 feet high "

"When the idol will be 20 feet away from the eyes of the beholder, who is going to know that there is scratch on the nose?" The gentleman asked.

The sculptor looked at the gentleman, smiled and said "God knows it and I know it.

The desire to excel should be exclusive of the fact whether someone appreciates it or not. Excellence is a drive from "Inside" not "Outside

Change Your Thinking..

It will take just 37 seconds to read this and change your thinking..

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room.

One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs.

His bed was next to the room's only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end.

They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation..

Every afternoon, when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and colour of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake.

Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every colour and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite details, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine this picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon, the man by the window described a parade passing by.

Although the other man could not hear the band - he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days, weeks and months passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep.

She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.
He strained to slowly turn to look out the window besides the bed.

It faced a blank wall.

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, 'Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.'

Epilogue:

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.

Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.

If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy.

'Today is a gift, that is why it is called The Present .'

Be innovative!

A blind man sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A woman was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. She then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. She put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind man. That afternoon the woman who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The man recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"

The woman said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way."

What she had written was: "Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it."

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?
Of course both signs told people the man was blind. But the first sign simply said the man was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story:
✒Be thankful for what you have.
✒Be creative.
✒Be innovative.
✒Think differently and positively.
